Rugby League Rules
Aside from the following special betting rules, the general betting rules apply. The special rules will take precedence over the common rules nevertheless.
These special rugby betting rules apply to Rugby League unless specifically stated. Where there is any conflict, these special rules take precedence over general betting rules. Unless a market explicitly states otherwise, settlement is based on Regular Time only (including injury/stoppage time), excluding Extra Time.
Definitions
Regular Time: Two halves of 40 minutes plus injury/stoppage time.
Golden Point: Many League competitions use Golden Point in regular season or finals. For any market labelled “Match Betting (incl. Extra Time)”, settlement is based on the official result after Golden Point. Unless otherwise stated all other markets are settled on Regular Time, Golden Point does not count. In the event regular Extra time is played, instead of Golden point, Any scheduled period after Regular Time and before the official end of the match (e.g., two 10-minute periods) is deemed to be extra time.
Official Result: The result declared by the competition organiser or governing body.
Match Status Rules
Abandoned Match: If a match is abandoned before Regular Time concludes, all bets are void except for markets unconditionally determined prior to abandonment (e.g., First Try Scorer if a try has already been scored).
Postponed / Rescheduled Match
Cancelled or postponed matches: Bets struck prior to the scheduled kick-off are void. Matches delayed but played on the same calendar day: all bets stand. Tournament finals (e.g., World Cup Finals): bets stand for the new date if postponed.
Matches played earlier than scheduled: Bets stand provided they were placed before the new kick-off; otherwise bets are void.
Incorrect Format: If a match does not take place in the correct format (e.g., not an 80-minute match split into two halves), all match bets are void unless unconditionally determined.
Extra Time Rules: Extra Time-specific markets are settled on the scheduled Extra Time played between the end of Regular Time and the official end of the match. If alternative periods are used (e.g., Golden Point in League), those markets settle on the actual extra periods played.
Market Rules
All references to Regular Time exclude Extra Time unless explicitly stated. The rules below apply to Rugby League.
Match Result
Settled on Regular Time (80 minutes). If scores are tied after Regular Time, Draw wins when offered. Extra Time does not count.
Draw No Bet
Settled on the official result after Regular Time. If the scores are tied at the end of regular time then all bets are void.
Handicap (3‑Way)
Settled on Regular Time. If handicap-adjusted scores are tied, the Tie selection is the winner. Extra Time does not count.
Total Match Points
Settled on all points scored in Regular Time. Points scored in Extra Time do not count.
First Try Scorer
- Players who have not entered the field before the first try is scored are void.
- If the match is abandoned after the first try, bets stand; if no try has been scored at abandonment, market void.
- If the match ends with no try, “No Try” wins.
- Penalty tries do not count for this market; settlement is on the next regular try by a named player or “No Try.”
- If an unlisted player scores, bets on listed players stand.
- Settlement based on TV inserts and Press Association (or equivalent) unless clearly erroneous.
Anytime Try Scorer / Last Try Scorer
- All players who take part are runners. If a player does not enter the field, bets on that player are void.
- If the match is abandoned all bets on the Last Try Scorer will be void.
- If the match is abandoned all bets on Anytime Try Scorer will be void, unless selections have been determined before abandonment, in which case winning Anytime Try Scorer bets will stand.
- Penalty tries do not count.
- If the match ends with no try, “No Try” wins.
- If an unlisted player scores, bets on listed players stand.
- Settlement based on TV inserts and Press Association unless clearly erroneous.
Handicap
Settled on Regular Time. Extra Time does not count.
1st Half Result
Settled on the score at half-time (Union/League: 40 minutes; Sevens: 7/10 minutes). If tied, Draw wins.
1st Half – Draw No Bet
Settled on the half-time leader. If tied, bets void.
1st Half Total Points
Settled on all points scored in the first half of Regular Time.
Half Time / Full Time
Predict the result at half-time and at the end of Regular Time. Bets void if the match does not complete Regular Time.
Total Match Tries
Settled on Total tries scored in Regular Time. Penalty tries DO count. Tries in Extra Time do NOT count. If the match is abandoned, bets are void.
Winning Margin
Settled on the margin at the end of Regular Time. If scores are tied and Draw/Score Draw is offered, that outcome wins; if not offered, bets are void.
Man of the Match
Settlement hierarchy: (a) player announced in live broadcast commentary; (b) award presented during the broadcast; (c) player named on host broadcaster’s official website; (d) player named by the competition’s governing body; (e) if shown live on two channels, use governing body’s website; (f) if still undetermined, bets void. Bets on players who take any part stand; if a player does not take part, bet void. Prices may be offered on request for unquoted players.
Match Result & Total Points
Combination market; both legs settled on Regular Time.
Double Chance
Settled on Regular Time.
Total Home Points
Settled on all points scored by the official Home team in Regular Time. Extra Time does not count.
Total Away Points
Settled on all points scored by the official Away team in Regular Time. Extra Time does not count.
Total Home Tries
Settled on total tries scored by the Home team in Regular Time. Penalty tries DO count. Extra Time tries do NOT count.
Total Away Tries
Settled on total tries scored by the Away team in Regular Time. Penalty tries DO count. Extra Time tries do NOT count.
Total Home 1st Half Tries
Settled on total tries scored by the Home team in the first half (Union/League: 40 minutes; Sevens: 7/10). Penalty tries DO count.
Total Away 1st Half Tries
Settled on total tries scored by the Away team in the first half (Union/League: 40 minutes; Sevens: 7/10). Penalty tries DO count.
Total Points Odd/Even – Regular Time
Settled on all points scored in Regular Time. Extra Time does not count. Zero (0) counts as Even.
Total Tries Odd/Even
Settled on all tries scored in Regular Time. Penalty tries DO count. Extra Time does not count. Zero (0) counts as Even.
1st Half Total Points Odd/Even
Settled on total points scored in the first half. Zero (0) counts as Even.
1st Half Total Tries Odd/Even
Settled on total tries scored in the first half. Penalty tries DO count. Zero (0) counts as Even.
1st Half Match Betting – Draw No Bet
Settled on the half-time leader; if Draw, bets void.
1st Half – 3‑Way Handicap
Settled on first-half handicap results; if handicap-adjusted scores are tied, Tie wins.
1st Half Handicap
Settled on first-half handicap results (no Tie unless explicitly offered).
1st Half Winning Margin
Settled on the margin at half-time. If scores are tied and Score Draw offered, that outcome wins; if not offered, bets void.
1st Half Double Chance
Settled on half-time result (two outcomes combined).
1st Half Most Tries
Settled on which team scores more first-half tries. Penalty tries DO count. If tied and Draw offered, Draw wins; if Draw is not offered, see rule 33.
1st Half Most Tries – Draw No Bet
Settled on which team scores more first-half tries. Penalty tries DO count. If tied and if Draw is not offered, bets are void.
1st Half Total Points Odd/Even
Settled on first-half total points in Regular Time. Extra Time does not count. Zero (0) counts as Even.
Total Tries Odd/Even (First Half)
Settled on first-half total tries. Penalty tries DO count. Extra Time does not count. Zero (0) counts as Even.
Race to 10 Points
Settled on which team first reaches 10 points in Regular Time. If neither team reaches 10, “None” wins.
Most Tries – Draw No Bet
Settled on which team scores more tries in Regular Time. Penalty tries DO count. If tied, bets void.
Highest Scoring Half
Settled on which half has more points in Regular Time. If equal, Draw wins.
Specials
Specials are settled per the specific market description and using the general settlement hierarchy (official data, governing body). Where outcomes can be shared, Dead Heat rules may apply unless otherwise stated.
Outrights
Outright markets (e.g., tournament winner, top try/points scorer) are settled on the official result declared by the competition organiser/governing body. Dead Heat rules apply to shared outcomes unless otherwise stated.
