Double Result

There may be occasions following a horse race where a Stewards Enquiry is required. These are called when there has been a potential breach of racing rules. On some occasions, when these cases are found true, the stewards may demote a winning horse and promote another into the winner’s position.

UK and Irish horse races are settled on the official result, which is decided after the stewards have made any amendments. However, as an added concession, we will also payout on the ‘First Past the Post’ result. This means that although a Stewards Enquiry relegated the de facto winner, your bet will remain successful; meaning we will pay out on both:

  • The official ‘weigh-in’ result from the racecourse on the day
  • The ‘First Past the Post’ result

There are some circumstances where we will only payout on the official ‘weigh-in’ result including:

  • The Aintree Grand National;
  • Ante-post bets;
  • Any Tote or Parimutuel bets;
  • Betting without the favourite's markets;
  • Challenge bets involving winning favourites and distance betting;
  • Forecast and Tricast bets;
  • Races where an incorrect 'First Past the Post' result has been announced in error by the judge;
  • Selections carrying the wrong weight;
  • Selections which have taken the wrong course;
  • Selections whose jockey failed to weigh-in.

In all of the above examples, the double result concession will not apply and payout will be determined on the official result, not the ‘First Past the Post’ result.

The double results concession will apply to all single and multiple bets at UK and Irish race courses.

This concession does not apply to races in other countries.

The double results concession applies to the day of race, Win & each way and Win only markets. It does not apply to daily challenge bets, which include jockey challenges, tipster challenges, meeting challenges, match bets, aggregate winning distance and winning distance specials. In the event of a double result, unless otherwise stated, all daily challenge bets will be settled according to only the official result on the day of the race, with the exception of aggregate winning distance bets and winning distance special bets which will be settled as per the distance betting rules.
